Magnetic molecular charge-transfer salts containing layers of water and tris(oxalato)ferrate(iii) anions
The materials reported formed the background for a Royal Society Research Grant award to Dr Martin (£11,000, 2008-09), led to a visiting Associate Professorship for him at Tokyo Metropolitan University (Prof. K. Kikuchi, January-February 2008) to make low temperature X-ray diffraction measurements, and to the award of a Royal Society International Joint Project with Japan (£6,000, 2008-10). The significance of this work was recognised by invited talks at Japan-Korea Seminar On Nanoscience (Tokyo, Feb 2008), Japan-Russia Conference On Conducting Molecular Materials, (Osaka, August 2008) Osaka and the 21st IUCr Satellite Meeting “Molecular Crystals Exhibiting Exotic Functions” (Osaka, August 2008).
