Additional information

<01> This work is introducing an innovative chemical sensor built using a new nano-technology method, and which makes it extraordinarily sensitive to contaminants. What makes it unique is the very high sensitivity of the device with attogram detection levels of blood enzyme. This is the first paper of a series that explores the properties of this new device. The device is fabricated in Plymouth, with testing done at Aston, and design shared across the team. This work led to a joint EPSRC award with Aston (Plymouth: £233,231 EPSRC grant, 2013) to further refine and test the sensor.
