Additional information

<08>Premier parallel computing journal paper credited by IBM (doi: 10.1145/1542275.1542286) as first to achieve automatic generation and optimisation of data transfers of OpenMP code on systems with explicitly-managed memory hierarchies, without necessitating software cache coherence protocols. This paper underpins the programming model of the SARC processor architecture, the culmination of an 8.5 million Euro EU FP7 Integrated Project (grant FP7-27648, 10.1109/MM.2010.94). Follow-on research based on the findings of this paper developed new parallel programming models based on task dataflow engines, further investigated in two multi-million EU projects (FP7-248647: Enabling Technologies for a Programmable Manycore, FP7-261580:Towards Exascale Applications).
