Additional information

This paper presents the first ever complete growth and heat-treatment study of TiO2 nanotubes to form the appropriate crystallinity. This is an international collaboration led by Bowen. The paper was highlighted in 'Hottest articles in Physical Chemistry' by Wiley-VCH from its selected journals (http://dmmsclick.wiley.com/share.asp?m=nftwiue75mzz6zueocn4). This work contributed to a successful proposal on "Photo-catalytic materials for the destruction of recalcitrant organic industrial waste" (FP7, Euro3.8M total with Euro542k to Bath, Grant Agreement 309846) where Bath is a partner and workpackage leader. Regonini is a PhD student supervised by Bowen.
