Additional information

This is the largest ever trial of NRT in pregnancy. It recruited 1050 pregnant smokers; previous, similar trials had recruited a total of 695 women between them. 13 research staff were employed to deliver the study and the wider research team included an additional 42 academics and clinicians. Tim Coleman led the funding bid and was Chief Investigator, being responsible for all aspects of the study. Matthew Grainge conducted the paper’s statistical analyses and conducted other study analyses as necessary; he also wrote the first version of the Results section and edited manuscript drafts produced by Tim.
