Additional information

The linear Fresnel reflector (LFR) is an extremely promising solar thermal technology for electricity generation. However, the LFR requires design improvements to increase performance. This study outlines a design method that optimises the mirror spacing arrangement of an LFR to increase the capture of solar energy and reduce capital costs. The design method has been utilised by Indian researchers building LFR prototypes at IIT Ropar, IIT Delhi and Industrial Boilers Ltd and will be an invaluable tool for solar energy system designers, guiding future LFR developments and installations.
