Additional information

A new ignition technique was used to synthesis NiAl by using induction heating. The heating and combustion process was fully monitored using fast speed IR thermometer and thermo imaging, which enabled a detailed analysis of the combustion process. Based on the findings, interlayer materials to improve the adhesion of coatings and reduce the effects of thermal expansion mismatch, have been developed.
