This is another milestone work for significantly simplifying the design procedure of general predictive control of nonlinear dynamic plants. The U model has led to a successful NSFC (Natural Science Foundation of China) grant application: “Subspace approach for identification of adaptive models in strong nonlinear systems with multiple operation space”, reference 61273188. The paper has attracted further research and application interests with several research groups, such as Shanghai Jiaotong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The research results have also led to high-tech application projects in China.
