Additional information

The book originated in Sutcliffe’s lead organisation (with assistance from co-editor I.S. Gilhus) of two panels bringing together ethnographic and historical accounts of New Age Spirituality and general theories of religion at the 2010 International Association for the History of Religions Quinquennial Congress in Toronto. Sutcliffe commissioned further chapters and created a proposal which, following peer review, led to the contract. All conference papers were extensively revised for publication. Sutcliffe oversaw all editorial revisions and copy-editing. The editors' Introduction and Conclusion were jointly composed, with Sutcliffe leading on the key material of New Age studies. Sutcliffe is the sole author of the opening chapter of 17pp, which extends and develops the theoretical agenda of the volume as set out in the co-written Introduction of 16pp, in which Sutcliffe is first-named author and contributed 50+% of content. Sutcliffe co-authored the Conclusion.
