Correlates of Disordered Eating Attitudes Among Male and Female Young Talented Dancers: Findings From the UK Centres for Advanced Training
The material for this paper was generated from a larger study into talent identification and development from the UK Government funded Centres for Advanced Training. As Principal Investigator of the project, I was responsible for devising the original research design and formulating the overarching research questions as well as leading smaller groups of experts to investigate specific topics around talent development. I was involved in preparing the initial draft manuscripts of this paper as well as commenting on, and approving the final paper. Findings of this study show that equal proportions of females and males were symptomatic for disordered eating however correlates differed. The published paper led to the development of a national Eating Disorder policy now implemented by the UK Centres for Advanced Training.
