<20>The paper resulted from a collaboration with world leading researchers from Stanford University, University of Maryland and Microsoft Research Redmond following a workshop during a Dagstuhl Seminar, 10241 on Information Visualization, June 13 –18, 2010. The paper builds on years of experience of developing visualisation systems by the authors, all leading researchers in the field, to introduce a new sub-field in information visualisation – data wrangling. The paper sets out the issues and research

challenges in the field and possible solutions.
