Additional information
Following on from our earlier work on PEG coating of nanoparticles, this paper reports on its effect on payload release under intracellular conditions. We discovered that PEG inhibits the initial burst release of payload and nanoparticle aggregation and that reduced PEG is effective thus enabling the co-attachment of large amounts of drug payload. This work has led to a collaboration with Queens University Departments of Physics and Pharmacy and a funding proposal to Prostate Cancer UK which is currently under review.
