<21> This paper brings together a long-standing interest in the design of collaborative workspaces and their relation to building architecture, to design, develop and evaluate a novel focus-in-context video collaboration tool. Using standard PC hardware, panoramic views into remote spaces are combined with user steerable and zoomable lenses. This design minimizes bandwidth requirements and provides users with unique and focused access to the connected spaces, physical resources and people. CHI is the leading international venue for HCI research, implementing a double-blind review process with a rebuttal stage. CHI 2012 accepted 23% of submissions.
