Additional information

<23> This paper is the result of a collaboration between Maybank, S. Ieng (Paris VI) and R. Benosman (Paris VI). The normal measure of image size is to count the number of pixels. This is appropriate if the structures of interest are points. This paper shows how to construct a new type of digital image when the structures of interest are the projections of straight lines into a paracatadioptric image. The number of pixels in the new image is a measure of the number of distinct projections of lines. This is the first time that a digital image of this type has been proposed.
