Additional information

Performance data and design rules for scale up of organic solvent nanofiltration using spiral wound membrane modules are reported in this paper. These design considerations provided underpinning engineering design for the fluid processing and application of organic solvent nanofiltration (i) to the recycle and recovery of processing solvents; and (ii) the application of spiral wound modules in pharmaceutical purification (http://duramem.evonik.com/product/duramem-puramem/en/Pages/default.aspx; contact: andrew.boam@evonik.com). This work also led to Imperial (Peeva) coordinating European Project IMETI PIAP-GA-2008-218068 (1.8M Euro)) centred on technology transfer to industry, and specifically on the development and performance of spiral wound elements.
