The volume is based on a conference (Oxford, 2008) organized by Dignas and Smith to honour the work of S.R.F. Price. It includes most of the papers held on that occasion and also some contributions solicited from colleagues, friends or students of Price. Dignas’ own contribution spearheads Part II. She also wrote the introduction to the volume (together with Smith), which addresses not only the work of Price and in particular his ideas on ‘memory’ but also presents and examines the content of the volume carefully. The editing process was shared equally by Dignas and Smith.
