Additional information

<20> Significance: Published in ACM CHI, the best and most competitive conference in HCI. Originality: First research to provide a concrete quantitative investigation of the use of thermal stimulation as an interface in HCI. Contribution: Thermal stimulation has been mooted for possible use in HCI, before this paper some prototypes had been created but not evaluated in a meaningful way. This work presented two studies looking at thermal perception in static and mobile settings. The outcome was the first set of detailed guidelines for designing usable thermal feedback for HCI, which can be applied in a variety of scenarios.
