Rereading Heterosexuality: Feminism, Queer Theory and Contemporary Fiction
This output is the outcome of research which entailed sustained and intensive investigation of two substantial theoretical frameworks central to gender and sexuality studies. The research focus on the theorisation of female heterosexuality required the conceptualisation of complex differences and affinities between feminist and queer theoretical perspectives. Research insights were arrived at through in depth analysis of a diverse range of topics, informed by specific contextual and theoretical knowledge, including: late Victorian discourses of sexuality; twentieth century constructions of intersexuality; controversies attending representations of child sexuality and child sexual abuse; contemporary debates around the ethics of human cloning.
