Automatic optimisation of system architectures using EAST-ADL
<08> The paper extends the work above to add unique optimisation modelling capabilities to EAST-ADL - an architecture descriptions language for design of vehicle control systems. Novelty lies in the ability to optimise architectures with respect to dependability, timing and cost. No other architecture description language offers such capability. The work largely builds on concepts that originated in HiP-HOPS. The language and tools are an emerging standard in the automotive industry, and been taken up by manufacturers and tier one suppliers including Volvo, Fiat and Continental. The work is leading a new field combining meta-heuristics and work on model-driven architectures.
