Additional information

Part of an international collaboration with Uminho/Portugal this was the first article to use collaborative filtering with artificial intelligence techniques to identify SPAM messages (a critical problem for ISPs). The ideas led to the award of the FUSION EU project (€4,236,400 total budget) which was ranked first in the call 8 of the FP7 programme (objective 1.1) and includes collaboration with Bell Labs (contact Didier Bourse), Orange (contact Dariusz Bursztynowski). The paper led to concepts such as the fusion between data centres and the Internet with dynamic allocation of service processing units influencing the concept of Service Oriented Network.
