Additional information

This research, in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University and Intel Research, demonstrated the real time generation and transmission of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexed (OFDM) signals at record high bit rates and presented a pathway to achieving 100 Gb/s long haul fiber transmission to meet future core network bandwidth demands. Led to £136k funding from Intel, post-deadline paper at ECOC’2009 (leading European conference in the field) and invited papers at four international conferences (ECOC, ICTON, OFC, IEEE Photonics Society Annual Meeting).
