Robust cognitive beamforming with bounded channel uncertainties

Obtained the optimal beamforming solution for a secondary network that ensures acceptable interference to the primary network with imperfect channel knowledge. Important to exploiting the TV spectrum white spaces for massive capacity enhancement. Led to £315k EPSRC funding EP/K015893/1 in collaboration with BT (Maziar Nekovee) and WiCO Shanghai (Yang Yang) and a £97k EPSRC CASE studentship with BT (Dave Wisely). Led to further collaboration with Shandong University (J Liu) on peer-to-peer communications and National University of Defense Technology (Jibo Wei) on physical-layer security optimisation.
