Terahertz probe for spectroscopy of sub-wavelength objects
To solve the severe challenge of applying THz spectroscopy to single sub-wavelength size objects, this work demonstrated a method for greater spatial confinement of THz pulses with a broader spectral content than previously demonstrated by the leading THz research group at Rice U. (Optics Express, doi:10.1364/OE.18.009643). It initiated a new joint research programme with the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies at Sandia National Lab (USA), which contributes MBE growth (John Reno) and in-kind device fabrication costs. Led to invited presentation at the international conference (OSA Advanced Photonics Congress 2013) and invitation to the international conference Programme Committee (SPIE Photonics West 2014).
