Additional information

For the first time, this research proves the convergence and robustness of a nonlinear Model Predictive Control (MPC) algorithm for a class of periodic resource allocation problems. Since publication, further financial support (through the company’s ‘Energy Efficiency Chair Programme’)  from Exxaro , the largest inland mining company of South Africa [http://www.exxaro.com/], has been obtained to apply MPC in its water pumping systems and conveyor belt systems [£285k, 2012-2015, Nthonyana.Kitsa@exxaro.com].
