Additional information

This paper resulted from EPSRC funded research into inverter connected generation [EP/G031681/1, £300k, 2009-2013], and focused on maintaining power quality with limited converter bandwidth and poorly quantified, variable network parameters. It is demonstrated that power filter resonance can be mitigated through inverter control, eliminating the need for efficiency-reducing damping networks. This research led to further journal publications [10.1109/TPWRD.2009.2014488, 10.1109/PESC.2008.4592148, 10.1109/CPE.2007.4296511 ], and collaborative research with Rolls Royce [Patent EP2566035, https://register.epo.org/application?number=EP12181297]. This research underpins a recently awarded joint U.K./China research grant to investigate grid integration of electric-vehicles [EP/L00089X/1, £900k, 2013-2016].
