Additional information
Fluorine-18 PET studies usually require a 60-minute dynamic scan. This paper describes a new technique for measuring bone plasma clearance from a single 5-minute static scan with results equivalent to the 60-minute scan. This enables multiple anatomical areas to be studied from a single injection of tracer. Although only recently published, it has become the standard method for research using Fluorine-18 PET in both osteoporosis [Frost, JBMR, 2013] and adynamic bone disease [Frost, Calcif Tissue Int, 2013]. This paper has been published in one of the two leading journals in the field of nuclear medicine.
