Double-weighted statement

This 2013 book meets three of the criteria that justify a double-weighted research output. The extensive thesis generated by this study of the place of the soul in western film theory furnishes a complex rethinking of key concerns within the history of film theory. The material is wide-ranging, focusing on European and North American film theory from the late-nineteenth to the twenty-first century, and on debates in philosophy, religion, and science. The book, which results from six years of research, also involved archival work on French and German sources that have yet to be widely discussed in the Anglophone world.
