This paper arises from a PhD studentship and proposes a novel approach, feature-based probabilistic texture blending, on landscape/terrain texturing which is very critical for high quality computer game and animation. Compared to existing methods, the proposed approach is able to generate intermittent texture transitions on the fly without user’s intervention, while requiring eight times less texture memory.
