GCM: a grid extension to Fractal for autonomous distributed components
<08>Originality: This work contributes an extension of the Fractal component model for modern distributed applications: the grid component model (GCM). First, to address the problem of deployment of components on the grid, efficient deployment strategies have been defined. Then, appropriate composition mechanisms to support collective communications on a set of components are introduced. Finally, in order to enable dynamic execution environments, GCM defines a set of features intended to support component autonomy.
Significance: Challenging objective for this work is to ease the programming of grid applications.
Rigour: Adopted approach allows GCM components to be the unit of deployment and management.
