Additional information

<01>Originality: The paper provides a novel solution for miniaturisation of microstrip filters. The research outputs of this work partially sponsored by the Nuffield Foundation can be commercially used as a low cost filter solution in transceivers for 3G and 4G mobile and wireless communication applications.

Significance: Since microstrip filters are widely used in 3G and 4G mobile and wireless applications this paper contributes towards improved cost effectiveness of these industries. Rigour: Theoretical analyses were used to develop the designed procedure. This was followed by simulations and measurements made on a fabricated design. The paper was published in a prestigious peer reviewed journal.
