An online database of the contents of 1500 eighteenth-century poetic miscellanies, never before catalogued. This is the largest research project on printed anthologies and miscellanies of this period in the world. It catalogues 75,000 poems and creates 35,000 individual poem records from over 3000 different authors. Where possible each poem is attributed, a significant piece of research since the majority of the poems appear anonymously. It offers a comprehensive cataloguing and survey of poetry published in Britain in the eighteenth century, and reveals insights into the importance of anonymity in verse circulation, and the reception of previously unknown women writers.
