Additional information

This paper was the product of collaboration with the world-leading particle modelling group at Kyoto University. The paper presents a novel technique to improve the numerical accuracy of Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) when used to predict free surface flows. This has significantly contributed to the subject field and the technique has since been used by many other SPH researchers. This work led to collaborative follow-on research from The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and included a delegation visit to the UK in 2011.
