Additional information

This work now used by AIRBUS was carried out during a Framework 6 European project (Grant RU/123554 - £250k) and resulted from joint research between the Universities of Sheffield and Hannover in Germany. This work led to the development of a model-based software which is now used for the prediction of the distortion of aerospace parts due to residual stresses (contact: R&T Manager for Structures Test, Airbus).
