Additional information

<7> This peer-reviewed paper is concerned with the simulation of the advanced features of computer architecture such as caches, pipelines, threads and process synchronization as the basis of the evaluation methodology in order to try to establish the educational value of the simulations that heavily rely on interactions, visualizations and animations; the evaluation seeks to establish and exploit possible unification between the engagement taxonomy and Bloom’s taxonomy. The insight gained from this is then fed back to enhance the value of the simulations. This in turn contributed to the use of the system simulator by tutors across several international universities.
