<6>This paper presents the experiences of building a carrier-grade next-generation test bed. The testbed was set up with support from industrial partners such as Orange, France Telecom and other well known vendors. This test facility was one of the two testbeds that existed in all of Europe, the other being FOKUS Fraunhofer. The paper also presented the results of calibrating a next-generation text bed. It is especially useful to test the technologies that are being standardized and are yet to be rolled out commercially. Subsequently, a number of PhD study were conducted on this infrastructure.
