Additional information

This paper reports work conducted as part of the completed EU FP6 funded SeaLife project, which involved partners from 6 institutions across Europe and an advisory board with members from the WWW Consortium, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Unilever and the NHS. It describes the first published user-centred evaluation of Semantic Web Browsers (SWBs) and recruited 240 respondents from the real-world target audience. The work has contributed a new evaluation framework for SWBs and was the first to show that users were able to use the semantic features of systems and less time was taken to complete tasks compared to traditional systems.
