The paper is important because it describes the first industry-led project management and web development methodology, for use in designing web-based Java systems. The methodology has been tried and tested in numerous industry projects. The outcomes of those projects demonstrate that the approach provides a successful communication tool for use in multi-disciplinary development teams, providing an easily understandable common language for communication between technical and non-technical developers.
