Additional information

The research highlighted in this paper considered the impact of emotional affect on learning. The concept of the system being imbued with emotional intelligence about the trainees, and the trainees utilising emotional intelligence to resolve the issues posed in the training were introduced as novel contributions to affective computing and online learning research. This work forms part of the development of the EU FP7 funded Pandora Advanced Training Environment, which has had some significant early impact on the crisis management community, and is now being developed as a commercial toolset.
