Additional information

This paper was the first in its kind to consider the corrosion behaviour of high speed trivalent amorphous chromium (a-Cr) electrodeposits as compared to the self-passivated crystalline chromium (c-Cr). The results show that a-Cr coatings electrodeposited from the trivalent chromium electrolyte may well outperform the corrosion protection ability of the c-Cr. The high speed process is the only process in the world capable of producing high quality thick chromium deposits from trivalent system. This process was developed at GCU as a result of my research project supported by EPSRC grant (Award number: GR/K15084/01).
