Additional information

This paper presents the work of an international collaboration, led by Fullekrug. The paper describes the first satellite-based observations of the trans-ionospheric propagation of low-frequency radio waves at 100 kHz along the geomagnetic field lines. This work will enable the immediate quantitative interpretation of data to be collected by the French TARANIS satellite due for launch in 2015. The paper led to a Visiting Professorship at CNRS/LPC2E, Orleans, France awarded to Fullekrug. The work is interdisciplinary with physics.
