Additional information

Spectrum sensing is a crucial process for cognitive radio. This paper reveals new insight into effect of the primary user traffic on the performance of secondary networks (tradeoff between sensing quality and achievable throughput). Importantly, the optimal sensing time in the proposed model varies for different primary channel conditions when the primary user traffic is considered. These results have already been used by several respected international groups, including Prof. Pinyi Ren (Xi'an Jiatong University, China).
