Significance of output:

The scale of reduced congestion at junctions, which was demonstrated in this paper (and one of the other submitted papers) led to a new £410k Technology Strategy Board grant with Siemens as the industrial partner. Technologies introduced in this paper are now being incorporated into Siemens' next generation traffic control system. The research described in this paper resulted in the authors being invited to exhibit at the 2011 Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition (http://royalsociety.org/summer-science/2011/traffic-control).
