Significance of output:

In hydrodynamics, water flow produced from fluid-structure interaction is mainly simulated by an idealized flow without involvement of energy dissipation. The well-known difficulty in the numerical simulation of the fluid motion problem is the computation of the unknown water surface. A new simulation algorithm involving energy dissipation is introduced and shows two advantages. Firstly, the computation difficulty regarding to the water surface is eliminated. Secondly, compared with the results from traditional methods, the derived numerical results are in a closer agreement with physical measurements.
