Effect of impression pressure and anilox specification on solid and halftone density
Flexography is a major volume manufacturing process for the production of flexible packaging. Latterly it is being adopted for the printing of large area flexible electronics. This paper looks at the impact of one of the key process parameters on the quantity and accuracy of reproduction of the discrete features in the image through measurement of the solid areas and half tone (dots) that make up the image. This work feeds into a long tem program of generating the underpinning science of printing processes. It should not be forgotten that printing is one of the major advanced manufacturing processes that underpins developments in many diverse industries.
