Double-weighted statement

This 300,000-word book builds on Ball’s previous works on the Conservative Party, and occupied 75% of the author's research time during this REF period. It is based on all of the available primary sources, including the archives of 113 individuals and over 200 Constituency Associations, and contains an original examination of Conservative ideology and a pioneering analysis of electoral support using census data. The result is the first fully-integrated study of a modern British political party that develops an original and rigorous analysis through investigating the nature and functions of every level from the grass-roots to the leader.
