Additional information

Forecasting of load demand is essential for the correct operation of electric utilities and is required for a proper generation schedule, fuel purchasing schedule, maintenance schedule and many other schedules. The article not only discusses short-term forecasts, but also demonstrates the feasibility of medium and long-term forecasting by using an artificial neural network. Historical data were used to train the neural network and validate the model. The article has generated wide interest and been instrumental in demonstrating the feasibility of Medium and Long term Load Forecasting.
