The findings from this paper were initially reported at an invited talk at the OWTNM 2012 Conference in Barcelona, gaining significant attention from many groups working on numerical modelling of photonic crystals (Phoenix Software, the Netherlands; Applied Mathematics Group, the Swiss Institute of Technology), since the routines available for modeling of the crystals with the required band structure characteristics can be substantially improved. The results were disseminated and well received at FOCASIA 2012 Conference (China), CAP 2013 Congress (Canada).Further, Morozov gave invited seminars on the subject, in October 2012 (Northumbria University, UK) and in June 2013 (Marie Curie Institute, France).
