Additional information

<22> This work presents an entirely novel approach to query-focused automatic multi-document summarisation, based on off-line learning from Wikipedia of what is typically said of entities of the same type as the query entity. The work originated within and contributed significantly to the TRIPOD EU project, reviewed as outstanding, which applied the technique to the automatic generation of image captions from camera GPS data. It directly led to an invitation to join in a CHIST-ERA proposal, subsequently funded (EP/K019082/1), on image annotation, with universities in Spain, France and the UK. ACL is the premier computational linguistics conference (GoogleScholar: 20).
