<22>This is the first attempt to evaluate how effective automated normative reasoning mechanisms are in supporting collaborative human decision-making in complex domains. This paper illustrates the strong collaboration between Aberdeen and CMU through jointly funded research and the appointment of Sycara as a part time member of academic staff. The research was funded jointly by US DoD and the UK MoD through the International Technology Alliance in Network and Information Sciences (ITA) project (2006-2016). The project was highlighted in a White House press release as an example of strong U.S.-UK collaboration in education, science and innovation: tinyurl.com/7quvnm7.
