Additional information

This paper is the first study analysing the perception of pedestrians and drivers in streets designed according to the principles of shared space. It is of particular interest to designers and stakeholders, who seek to make informed decisions, but has also already started to establish itself as an important research reference in the field, referred to in further work by other researchers (e.g. M. A. Granié, IFSTTAR - France; S. H. Norgate, University of Salford; E. Papadimitriou, NTUA – Greece; and R. Ehrenfeucht, Louisiana State University - USA) despite having been only recently published.
